Deliciously Basic Homemade Granola

Basic Homemade Granola that is easy to make and a great foundation recipe for your own twist! Made with oats, almonds, cinnamon, maple syrup and a little brown sugar. Deliciously good!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 cups rolled oats gluten-free if needed
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3 tbsp. oil
  • 3 tbsp. maple syrup or honey
  • 3 tbsp. brown sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 300F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a baking liner.
  2. In a food processor, pulse almonds until roughly chopped and all different sizes then add 1 cup of oats and pulse 3 times to get different sized oat pieces.
  3. In a large bowl, add the remaining oats, cinnamon, salt and the almond-oat mixture.
  4. In a small saucepan, mix the oil. maple syrup and sugar together until the sugar has dissolved.
  5. Add the liquids to the oats and mix until even.
  6. Evenly spread the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until slightly golden. Make sure to toss the granola halfway through to get even cooking, but be careful not to break any goodness clumps.
  7. Let cool to room temperature before storing in an airtight container for up to a week!

RECIPE NOTES

If you don't have a food processor, you can chop the almonds by hand and omit pulsing the 1 cup oats - it's just as delicious!
