Is bigger really better?! For this Giant Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie, it definitely is! Baked in a cast iron skillet this cookie has a gooey, melt in your mouth, center and a crispy edge - the best of both cookie worlds!

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 to 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the butter and sugars together with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until evenly mixed.
  4. Mix in the flour, baking soda and salt.
  5. Depending on your chocolate cravings, mix in anywhere from 1/2 cup to 1 cup of chocolate chips.
  6. Transfer dough to a cast iron skillet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the center is just set and golden.
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving!
Recipe Notes

If you don't have a cast iron skillet, not to worry! You can use another oven-safe skillet or a pyrex pie plate.
