Santa’s Secret Cocktail is all of the classic holiday flavors combined into one drink! Rosemary infused simple syrup, orange liquor and cranberry juice are shaken together and topped with prosecco and a cranberry rosemary skewer to make the perfect Christmas cocktail!
I’ve had this cocktail brewing in my head for SUCH a long time! I’m so happy I get to share it with you today!
I find it has everything you would want in a holiday cocktail. Cranberries for that pop of red, rosemary infused simple syrup for that something different and amazing, orange liquor to bring back the times when oranges and clementines at Christmas were a special treat (I still think they are!), and of course prosecco to satisfy the wanting of just a touch of bubbliness.
Santa’s Secret Cocktail is festive and delicious and I will keep all the ingredients in stock for the holidays – family and friends will for sure like it!
As with the Mischievous Elf, this can be made into a mocktail by replacing the orange liquor with orange juice and the prosecco with club soda or sparkling water – mind you, if you’re only two and don’t want to open a bottle of prosecco go right on to swapping that out for the mocktail replacement!
Now, if you are a regular reader you are confused… two blog posts in two days?!!!
That’s right!!! If you haven’t guessed it (and you don’t follow me on social media) this week I’m having a Christmas/Holiday cocktail bonanza! I’m trying my best to post a cocktail a day for the next five days! That way, if you haven’t already started having holiday get-togethers with friends and family, you can get some ideas and all the fixings for some festive cocktails!
Anyways, I’m loving my little jaunt into the world of cocktail making, it is definitely an art to craft a beautiful glass.
To make Santa’s secret cocktail, you’ll also need to head on over to the rosemary-infused simple syrup recipe you’ll need an ounce for every two cocktails and therefore can make 16 Santa’s Secret Cocktails out of one batch of syrup!
Hope you enjoy!
- 1 oz. rosemary infused simple syrup
- 2 oz. orange liquor
- 3 oz. cranberry juice
- Rosemary sprigs and cranberries for garnish
In a cocktail shaker with ice, shake together the syrup, orange liquor and cranberry juice.
Equally pour the contents over ice into a low ball glass - I really love large square ice cubes.
Top with prosecco.
Add the garnishes.
For a mocktail version: swap the orange liquor for orange juice, and prosecco with sparkling water or club soda!
Also, if you don't feel like opening a bottle of prosecco, swap it for club soda or sparkling water!
