There is nothing better than arugula tossed with a simple and easy basic balsamic vinaigrette. It’s the salad is easily customizable – so is the dressing!

There is nothing better than arugula tossed with a simple and easy balsamic vinaigrette. It’s understated but classy and can be put together quickly. Perfect as an appetizer or a quick light lunch/snack and easily customizable: tomatoes and shaved parmesan as photographed, or strawberries and pecans, figs and walnuts, goat cheese and cranberries…

I think I just made myself really hungry! LOL

Seriously though! Super simple and classy. ALSO: I called it basic balsamic vinaigrette for a reason! It is also customizable with the addition of minced garlic, shallots, dijon mustard, honey… so many options, experiment!

Basic Balsamic Vinaigrette

This is the most basic balsamic vinaigrette, but you can jazz it up with some garlic, shallots, dijon mustard or honey!
Servings: 1 cup

Ingredients
  • 3/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • Fresh ground pepper
Instructions
  1. Shake the oil, vinegar <g class="gr_ gr_52 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="52" data-gr-id="52">and</g> salt in a jar.
  2. Toss or drizzle on top of your favorite lettuce to your liking.
  3. Serve with fresh ground/cracked pepper.
